<div class="content"><p>This protocol extends the protocol described in <a href="../ms-dcom/4a893f3d-bd29-48cd-9f43-d9777a4415b0" data-linktype="relative-path">[MS-DCOM]</a>
by providing facilities to add <a href="482ab606-0b55-4821-8b6d-d453351406c5#gt_61e1de21-a78d-4d20-b184-eda380386871" data-linktype="relative-path">transactions</a>,
synchronization, multiple <a href="482ab606-0b55-4821-8b6d-d453351406c5#gt_a224e395-3fea-48bd-b141-3dd9bee2136a" data-linktype="relative-path">object
class</a> configurations, security, and other attributes to distributed object
applications. The protocol consists of a set of extensions layered on top of
the DCOM remote protocol. The following diagram shows the layering of the
