that have been created to serve <a href="a83205a2-23e2-41bb-84e1-4d968aaae4e8#gt_b86c44e6-57df-4c48-8163-5e3fa7bdcff4" data-linktype="relative-path">NetBIOS</a> requests.</p><dl>

</dd></dl><p><b>ServerHdl: </b>An <a href="a83205a2-23e2-41bb-84e1-4d968aaae4e8#gt_8a7f6700-8311-45bc-af10-82e10accd331" data-linktype="relative-path">RPC</a> binding over IP
address/HostName to the <a href="a83205a2-23e2-41bb-84e1-4d968aaae4e8#gt_bafb050b-b593-4517-8093-f721bd2378ac" data-linktype="relative-path">WINS</a>
server. RPC uses this binding internally to determine which WINS server the
call is directed to.</p><p><b>NewNoOfNbtThds: </b>New value for the number of
worker threads that have been created for NetBIOS requests.</p><p><b>Return Values: </b>A 32 bit unsigned integer that
indicates the return status. A return value of ERROR_SUCCESS (0x00000000)
indicates that operation completed successfully. A nonzero return value is a
Win32 error code, as specified in <a href="../ms-erref/1bc92ddf-b79e-413c-bbaa-99a5281a6c90" data-linktype="relative-path">[MS-ERREF]</a>.

those thrown by the underlying RPC protocol <a href="../ms-rpce/290c38b1-92fe-4229-91e6-4fc376610c15" data-linktype="relative-path">[MS-RPCE]</a>.</p><p><b>Processing and Response Requirements:</b></p><p>The following requirements and recommendations apply to a
WINS server that processes a call to <a href="e231089b-eb49-40d2-8b62-2b1437e9f98a" data-linktype="relative-path">R_WinsWorkerThdUpd</a>:</p><ul><li><p><span><span> 
</span></span>The R_WinsWorkerThdUpd caller SHOULD have control level access.
If an RPC client with a lower access level calls this method, the server SHOULD
return ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED.</p>
</li><li><p><span><span> 
</span></span>The WINS service MUST be in the running or paused state for this
method to succeed. If the service is in the initializing or exiting state, the
server SHOULD return ERROR_WINS_INTERNAL.</p>
</li><li><p><span><span> 
</span></span>The new number given in <i>NewNoOfNbtThds</i> MUST be in the
range 2 through 19, inclusive. Otherwise, the server SHOULD return an
ERROR_WINS_INTERNAL error.</p>
</li><li><p><span><span> 
</span></span>The R_WinsWorkerThdUpd call sets the number of worker threads
that serve NetBIOS requests to the new number given in <i>NewNoOfNbtThds</i>.
If the existing number of NetBIOS threads is same as the requested number, the
RPC call SHOULD return immediately. Otherwise, NetBIOS threads are created or
deleted to adjust the total number of threads to the requested number.</p>
